About Sierra Brantz
I am passionate about strengthening organizational sustainability and community and youth resilience, particularly in underserved and economically or environmentally vulnerable areas. My work centers on addressing interconnected challenges across human, animal, and environmental health through collaborative, sustainability focused, and innovative approaches. With an MPH from the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, I bring a systems-thinking approach to designing sustainable, community-driven solutions. My experience spans project coordination and implementation, monitoring and evaluation, partnership development, and translating evidence and policy priorities into practical, on-the-ground action that supports long-term community impact. As an Environmental Health Fellow with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, affiliated with the Center for Evaluation and the One Health Committee, I supported the development of a global EPA–Peace Corps partnership aimed at strengthening environmental and public health capacity in low-resource settings. I also worked across teams and regions to support evaluation efforts and cross-sector collaboration.Beyond public health and policy, I co-founded Switchback Gear Collective, a nonprofit focused on reducing barriers to outdoor access. I have also collaborated with local health departments, universities, the American Red Cross, and faith-based organizations. Across these experiences, I remain committed to advancing community-driven, innovative, and economically sustainable solutions that foster health, conservation, and resilient communities.
