ABOUT SIDHARTH HARIHARAN

Sidharth is an undergraduate mathematics student with a strong interest in pursuing research in pure mathematics. Highly motivated to learn, Sidharth is always looking for opportunities to engage directly with new ideas and gain research experience. Sidharth has been involved in an ongoing open-source effort to formalise mathematics in the Lean Theorem Prover, working directly with Dr. Kevin Buzzard, a pioneer in the field, and is currently studying a decidability problem in Group Theory under the supervision of Dr. Michele Zordan. Multilingual, well-travelled, and internationally minded, Sidharth believes that collaboration is an integral part of impactful research, and excels at building bridges and finding common ground with those around him. To this end, Sidharth will be joining the prestigious EPFL as an exchange student in September 2023. A person of many interests, Sidharth loves photography, writing poetry, and can occasionally be found flipping logs looking for life in the undergrowth. In addition to research, Sidharth is passionate about the education sector, especially because of its immense potential to enrich global societies. Sidharth has a great deal of experience teaching and mentoring students primarily in mathematics (both voluntarily and in employ), and is always looking for opportunities to make quality education accessible to more people across the globe. In the future, Sidharth aims to pursue a PhD in an area of pure mathematics he has yet to figure out, and seeks to go into academia afterwards, all the while focusing on ways to use his knowledge and experience for social good. Sidharth is always up for a conversation, especially about mathematics.
