As a hardware engineer in a startup, I played a pivotal role in the development of our chip, contributing to various areas:Processor Verification:Validated diverse processors, including xtensa and risc v-based ones, covering booting, clock and reset verification, inter-processor synchronization, interrupts handling, cache flushing, connectivity of registers, and power tests.Developed architecture/application-specific tests and implemented exception handling mechanisms.Secure Boot Processor:Validated and contributed to the firmware of the secure boot processor, which orchestrates the chip\'s functionality and controls every part.Implemented a patching mechanism for the secure boot processor\'s baked code.Clocks and Resets:Verified 4 sets of PLLs and their connectivity to various chip blocks.Validated 70+ resets and clock enables, including power gating and isolation for specific blocks.Tested dynamic clock ratios and ensured stability under varying conditions.MMIOs:Verified chip memories using a backdoor access methodology for debig purposes.Validation:Developed a framework for FTDI interaction, utilizing JTAG, I2C, GPIO, UART, and SPI modes.Ported verification tests to silicon, created debug utilities, and facilitated clock information retrieval.Silicon Utils:Implemented C++ utilities for clock information, fuse contents, and DDR programming tool.Developed scripts for internal parsing needs and worked on DMAs within the system.Misc Work:Contributed to processor Makefiles, added Verilog functions for C-based tests, and developed various scripts for internal usage.Got acquired by nxp semiconductors on 27th Oct 2025
