ABOUT SIDDHARTH VIKAL

I am a DBS (Danaher Business Systems) Certified Practitioner in Lean Software Development leading a large multi-level, multi-site R&D medical device software team of >35 associates. I’ve extensive international experience with a strong track record of research, product software development, building teams from scratch, leading them to become consistent high performing teams delivering multiple commercial releases. I’m passionate about problem-solving, be it a technical challenge or a leadership challenge, delivering solutions building on my strengths- Analytical and collaborative approach to get to the root first and then find sustainable solutions - Continuous improvement mindset challenging the status quo, assumptions for self and the team to promote innovation - Lead with compassion, building an inclusive culture on the foundations of integrity, honesty, and humility - Application of agile approach in aspects, not just in software development, fail fast! I believe in leading by example, and I tend to go out of the way to help people within and outside of my own group to achieve the collective organizational objectives. I see challenges as opportunities of learning something new and growing myself to become a better person. I have learnt through doing that leadership is not just about an individual’s traits but a bi-directional process with team members where the environment, empowerment and enabling are key. I believe that having motivated individuals are crucial to performance to their respective potentials and achieve higher overall objectives for the team and organization.After graduating with a degree in Computer Engineering, then doing a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, my early career was predominantly in research in corporate (GE Global Research, Siemens Corporate) as well as academic organizations (Queens University, Canada). I spent considerable time in GE Healthcare working on developing product software for next generation C-arms. I moved to the UK in 2015 to gain exciting start-up experience in Perspectum Diagnostics, Oxford UK.
