About Siddarth B Mahajan

Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile. I am Siddarth B Mahajan, a postgraduate scholar currently pursuing my MA in English with Communication Studies at Christ University, Bangalore. Born visually impaired, I have never perceived my disability as a limitation. Instead, it has shaped my path with resilience, purpose, and a commitment to intellectual and social engagement. My academic interests lie in Indian Writing in English, Literary Theory, and Cultural Studies. I qualified the UGC-NET in English Literature in my first year of my master’s and on my very first attempt. I actively contribute to scholarly writing, with a published paper titled “Identity, Language, and Nationalism in Amanuddin\'s \'Don\'t Call Me Indo-Anglian\' and Ezekiel\'s \'Goodbye Party for Miss Pushpa T.S’” in a peer-reviewed anthology by the Bodhi Centre for Literary Studies. Additionally, I translated the Kannada folktale “Karege Hara: Surrendering to the Brook,” which was featured in Muse India. I also worked on a research project titled “The Influence of Globalization on Kannada Film Music (1980s–Present),” examining how global cultural flows have shaped regional soundscapes. In the media domain, I interned at The Hindu, where I gained valuable experience in editorial practices and journalistic writing. I also interned at Enable India, an NGO focused on empowering individuals with disabilities, where I worked as a content writer for their Namma Vaani project. Beyond academics and internships, I am deeply involved in cultural and institutional initiatives. I served as a committee member of Literati, the English student association at Christ University, and contributed to the Scientific Committee for MÉLANGE 2025, an international student-led conference on cities as evolving sites of narrativity and socio-cultural engagement. While literature and research form the core of my identity, I also explore creative expression through music. As a singer and hobbyist music producer, I have composed background scores for Kannada short films, blending my passion for sound, language, and culture. I believe that teaching is one of the most transformative professions, and my goal is to contribute meaningfully to academia and society as a professor of English, fostering inclusive and accessible learning environments. I am also passionate about motivating others and providing career guidance. I aim to inspire people to overcome challenges and find meaningful paths aligned with their aspirations. I welcome academic collaborations, creative dialogues, and professional connections.
