ABOUT SIAMAK KHORRAM
Experienced Founding Director with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education and industry. In summary, Professor Siamak Khorram received his graduate degrees from the University of California at Berkeley and Davis. His research interest is in remote sensing, image processing, and geospatial analytics. Dr. Khorram has educated over students worldwide; served as major/guiding professor for over 30 Master and Ph.D. students at UC Berkeley, ISU, and NCSU; authored or co-authored well over 200 publications including 3 textbooks; and delivered keynote addresses in Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers major conferences. Professor Khorram has established several Master and Ph.D. degree programs; served as the Principal Investigator for over 60 major research projects; and worked with many scientists, engineers, administrators, and policy makers at every major space agency in the world including NASA, Japanese, European, Canadian, French, German, Indian, Chinese Space Agencies and the United Nations. He currently holds a faculty appointment at the rank of Full Professor at the University of California at Berkeley. He is Emeritus Professor and the Founding Director of the Center for Geospatial Analytics at North Carolina State University. He is a Dean Emeritus and since 2006 serves as a member of the Board of Trustees and the Board of Governors of the International Space University in Strasbourg, France.
