I have worked professionally in the education field for thirty years. I am an experienced National Board Certified English teacher who has taught and served in administrative capacities in both public and private high schools. I have taught at-risk children in alternative schools, students in the Kansas City, Missouri Public School District,(Lincoln Preparatory Academy), served as an adjunct lecturer for Rockhurst University, an educator and administrator at Pembroke Hill, and an online instructor for new teachers with Global Online Academy. During my entire career, not only have I worked with students, but I also simultaneously embraced the privilege and challenge of serving in various leadership roles. I have served as a mentor for teachers, coordinator for Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate studies,served as a department chair, and administrator. It is my deep calling to serve in instructional and administrative capacities to spur student achievement and nurture community relationships. My philosophy of education is mindful of Aristotle\'s aphorism:\"The fate of empires depends upon the education of youth.\" I co-authored the book Optimizing Learning (Thinking Skills, Technology, Teaming) in 2021. I accepted the President\'s position at St. Teresa\'s Academy in November 2018 and assumed full leadership in July 2019. I served as chair of Pembroke Hill\'s English department from 20••••13. In 2013, I served as an upper school assistant principal. In addition, I began teaching as an adjunct professor at Park University in 2018. I co-authored the book Optimizing-Learning that was published by Rowman & Littlefield Publishers and released in January 2022.
