ABOUT SHYSTA SEHGAL

I am an International Scholar and a Laidlaw Scholar at the University of Toronto. I am a proactive and diligent student, and I am highly interested in artificial intelligence and bridging the gap between machine learning algorithms and complex human cognition. Specifically, I wish to learn about human cognition in detail to apply the learnings to algorithms so that they can replicate aspects like human creativity. Some of my interests include reinforcement learning, robotics, and neural networks. Highlights of my skills and accomplishments: Programming Languages: Python, Java, C, R, HTML, CSS, C# Technologies: Pandas, NumPy, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Matplotlib, ROS, PostgreSQL, Unity, Isaac Sim Developer Tools: Git, GitHub, GitLab, Visual Studio, IntelliJ, Virtual Machines, Linux Recipient of the University of Toronto International Scholar Award based on academic achievement, given to only highly competitive incoming international students Awarded in funding by the Laidlaw Scholars Program on the basis of holistic criteria and demonstrated leadership to conduct independent university-level research and leadership projects over two summers I also do judo, barre, strength training, and I am passionate about travel, history, evolutionary biology, and reading psychological thrillers like those of Dostoyevsky.
