I was nearing the end of my education. The only thing worrying me was that I didn’t have a proper full-time job. After of rejection emails and several interviews that didn’t progress, I felt discouraged. Then, I got a call from Bertie about a Sales Assistant role at EPIC. The job description was quite similar to my previous experience and after speaking with Bertie, I felt confident that I’d be a good fit.A few days later, I had a call with Sean, the Business Development Manager, who I would be assisting. Since I was new to the Oil and Gas industry, I was eager to learn. My main role at EPIC involves gathering information from various departments to prepare detailed quotes for potential clients. I review RFQ documents, use the D365 system for pricing and quoting, identify risks and solutions for contracts and manage bid documents. I ensure timely submissions and handle Purchase Orders. Working on diverse projects at EPIC greatly expands my knowledge and skills. The experience here is unmatched compared to my previous roles. Assisting with new projects, observing operations and learning about clients is incredibly valuable.Over time, I realized there is so much more to learn in the industry and even after a year, I know I still have a lot to discover. However, the EPIC team has been fantastic in helping me grow and deepen my understanding of the industry, particularly about the Smart-Trac system.Smart-Trac is an advanced system that handles everything related to personnel safety, including electronic mustering, evacuation and POB management. It’s clear that clients around the world prefer electronic solutions like ours, which are much more efficient than outdated paper-based systems.It’s now been over a year since I joined EPIC and every day still feels like a new learning experience. Being part of EPIC is amazing and I’m excited to continue growing, learning and contributing to new projects with the team.
