ABOUT SHYAM KARKI

I am Vice President and Head of CMC at Kestrel Therapeutics, a biopharmaceutical company that discovers, develops, and delivers innovative medicines for patients with difficult to treat cancers.I have over 25 years of work experience in the pharmaceutical industry supporting drug product development and CMC of small molecules and biologics, spanning from discovery to NDA filing and transfer to manufacturing.My mission is to advance life-changing therapies for patients with unmet medical needs, leveraging my scientific knowledge, technical skills, and strategic vision. I have led groups of talented scientists and engineers who support formulation design and development, process development and scale-up, and technology transfer for a diverse portfolio of products across various therapeutic areas and modalities. I also managed the integration and alignment of drug product development activities and strategies with other functions within the organization and external partners. Some of the key skills that I utilize and demonstrate in my role are pharmaceutics, scientific research, CMC development, project management, cross-functional collaboration, innovation, and problem-solving. I am proud of the achievements and contributions that my team and I have made to the development and launch of several novel and impactful drugs that have improved the lives of millions of patients around the world.
