SKILLS
ABOUT SHWETA RAJ
I’ve spent the last decade designing learning, the kind that actually changes what people do at work, not just what they click through to completion.I started out believing that good content was the answer. Twelve years later, I know better. Most of the time, the real work is figuring out what problem we’re actually trying to solve and gently convincing everyone involved that \'just make it interactive\' is not a strategy. My days usually begin with understanding a client’s business reality, end with shaping a learning experience that makes sense to real humans, and somewhere in between involve thoughtful debates with SMEs, project managers, designers, and developers, all in the service of getting learning right. I enjoy translating complex, sometimes painfully dry inputs into clear, engaging, and performance-focused learning experiences.I’ve designed eLearning, VILTs, ILTs, and blended programs across domains ranging from compliance and software to industrial, product, sales, and banking. I’ve knowledge of using tools like Storyline, Rise, Captivate, dominKnow, and Vyond. But I’ve learned that tools don’t design learning; decisions do. That’s why I lean heavily on challenge, storytelling, scenarios, simulations, guided discovery, and gamification, not as gimmicks, but as ways to help learners think, decide, and perform better on the job.Along the way, I’ve also led and mentored teams of instructional designers, developers, and visual designers, ensuring quality, clarity, and sanity across projects. I’m often the person connecting dots between client expectations, learning strategy, and what finally lands on the learner’s screen, and I take that responsibility seriously.Recently, I had the opportunity to co-present a webinar on Gamify Your eLearning with eLearning Industry, which felt like a nice full-circle moment after years of advocating that learning doesn’t have to be boring to be effective. When I’m not designing learning experiences, I’m usually traveling, gardening, building playlists for every mood, or binge-watching shows, purely for \'research\', of course. If you believe learning should be thoughtful, practical, and a little more human, we’ll probably get along just fine.
