ABOUT SHWETA KARMAKAR

As a graduate with a Bachelor\'s degree in Coastal Environmental Studies from Stony Brook University, I am passionate about environmental justice and a just, equitable transition to clean energy. I have gained valuable experience in these fields through internships and work experiences.I am currently a JD candidate at Washington and Lee University School of Law, where I aim to further my knowledge and skills in environmental law and policy. I’m an Eco-Rep for Washington and Lee University, and I use my passion and knowledge of sustainability to promote participation in our campus’s environmental initiatives, such as our robust composting system and community garden. I also serve on the University Sustainability Committee to assist in community relations as we work on projects to make our campus more sustainable. I am also a LEED Green Associate certified by the U.S. Green Building Council.
