ABOUT SHWETA CHAHAL

My research centres on developing lead-free perovskites for energy conversion applications, with a focus on environmental friendly synthesis methods that avoid toxic and corrosive elements. I specialize in conducting comprehensive optical, structural, and thermal analyses to evaluate high photoluminescence, quantum yield, and thermal stability.Previously, I focused on chalcogenide glasses for infrared device applications. These materials were synthesized using the melt quench technique, including impurity removal through distillation. My work involved in-depth thermal, optical, and structural studies to understand glass structural relaxation, bandgap properties, disorder, and defect states, supported by Raman spectroscopy findings. Additionally, I investigated potential crystallization in IR transparent optical fibers, using focused ion beam techniques and transmission electron microscopy for compositional and crystalline phase analysis.I have extensive hands-on experience in chalcogenide glass synthesis, thin film deposition, and various advanced characterization techniques, including X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-Vis spectroscopy, FT-IR spectroscopy, Fluorometer, scanning electron microscopy (SEM-EDS), optical profilometry, focused ion beam (FIB-SEM), TEM, atomic force microscopy (AFM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), modulated DSC, DTA, TGA, TMA, and Raman spectroscopy
