As Mark Twain said, ‘The difference between the almost right word and the right word is… the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning.’ I help my middle schoolers chase the lightning.As a Language and Literature teacher for middle school, I am equal parts wordsmith, mentor, and magician—turning reluctant readers into curious thinkers and chatterboxes into thoughtful writers. I design lessons that don’t just teach grammar and literature but make stories leap off the page and ideas spill onto paper. From Shakespeare to sci-fi, I guide students to analyze, empathize, and articulate with flair. I balance rigor with creativity—debates, role plays, and projects are my classroom staples. My biggest responsibility? Helping adolescents discover that words are not just rules to follow but powerful tools to question, connect, and create.
