Prior to joining Symbiosis, Dr. Kakran served as an Assistant Professor at Doon Business School, Dehradun. He has also been associated with the Mittal School of Business, Lovely Professional University (LPU), as a Teaching Assistant in Accounting and Auditing.Dr. Kakran is deeply passionate about teaching and research. His current areas of academic interest include stock markets, commodity markets, sustainable development goals, energy policy, and artificial intelligence. Notably, he has contributed high-impact research publications to both LPU and DBS. His work includes publications in Applied Energy (Impact Factor: 12.8, Cite Score: 21.2 – 2023) and the Journal of Cleaner Production (Impact Factor: 9.0, ABDC-A, Scopus Q1, WoS-SCI – 2024).He has published over 12 research articles in reputed journals such as Applied Energy, Journal of Economic Asymmetry, Cogent Economics and Finance, Research in International Business and Finance, The Journal of Corporate Accounting and Finance, and Indian Journal of Finance. His work is indexed in Scopus (Q1, Q2), Web of Science, and ABDC (A and B categories).Dr. Kakran has presented 13 research papers at national and international conferences, including at IIM Kashipur, IIM Jammu, and IIM Shillong. He was awarded Best Research Paper Presentation by SRM University, Haryana.He is currently serving as an editor for the forthcoming book titled “Integrating Artificial Intelligence (Chat-GPT) into Marketing, Economics, Business, and Finance” to be published by Apple Academic Press (co-published with CRC Press, Taylor & Francis Group), with plans for indexing in Scopus and Web of Science.Beyond academics, Dr. Kakran has actively contributed to nation-building through his involvement in NCC, NSS, and Scouts & Guides.
