Having successfully completed my master\'s degree in Biomedical Engineering at Duke University and concluding my research as a design health intern, focusing on patients with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and Neurogenic Orthostatic Hypotension (nOH), I have honed my skills in user-centred design and innovation, with a focus on improving healthcare for both patients and clinicians. During my internship, I played a key role in designing and testing a research model to understand the effects of abdominal pressure on vital signs, alongside conducting an IRB-approved healthy volunteer study. This hands-on experience allowed me to engage in the entire product development lifecycle, from brainstorming and collaboration to design, testing, and real-time monitoring of outcomes. My master\'s at Duke provided me with a deeper understanding of the integration of healthcare and business while focusing on medical device design as well as entrepreneurship. My passion for design dates back to childhood, when I found joy in sketching various designs and creating them with my best friends - Lego blocks and playdough. They brought me joy, with the various shapes and designs I could create. This innate creativity has served me well, especially while working on projects involving stakeholders at Duke Hospital. One of my most profound experiences was developing a non-invasive Spinal rehabilitation device, which provided ample opportunities for learning and experimentation in 3D modeling, design, testing, quality management, project management, and user-centric design improvements. As I transition into the professional world, I aim to leverage my education and experiences to contribute to the development of impactful and innovative medical devices that address the unique needs and challenges faced by patients and clinicians alike. My skills in design, innovation, and user-centred approaches, coupled with a strong foundation in project management and quality assurance, position me to make meaningful contributions in the field.
