   Expedia Virtual Card Consolidation**\\\\nLed a cross organization business critical software cost saving initiative as subject matter expert and primary point-of-contact with a team of 3 engineers end to end. This project saved Expedia an average of $100 million USD/year.\\\\nTrained and mentored junior developers and engineers, teaching skills in business use-cases and technical issues and working to improve overall team performance.\\\\nImproved TP99 latency of Commit and Rollback APIs by 33.33%.\\\\nDecoupled critical database dependency to improve operational efficiency by consolidating support and maintenance.\\\\nPracticed and encouraged respectful and transparent communication in interactions.\\\\n\\\\n**Next Generation Core Booking APIs Migration**\\\\nThis was a huge multi-quarter initiative where we migrated from a monolithic architecture in C++ to Spring boot based microservices architecture. This system powers all booking and fulfillment functionalities of hotel bookings for all brands of Expedia.\\\\nDrove design discussions on best approaches to break monolithic legacy web services to lighter domain design driven based micro-services. Contributed as a subject matter expert and technical expert in coming up with design that addresses flaws of legacy system.\\\\nDesigned and implemented Offer-Checker REST spring boot based microservice end to end JSON based APIs. Reduced size of the JSON request responses by from 200+ fields in legacy to less than 50 in the offer checker service.\\\\nArchitected minimalistic JSON APIs for all micro-services for 2 main critical data heavy booking and change APIs.\\\\nDesigned shadow testing framework that was used to do regression testing between old and new stack. Fixed critical bugs and drove resolution of those among team members.\\\\nCoded and unit tested multiple features across all (5+) microservices to bring feature parity with legacy system.\\\\n\\\\n**Mentoring and Team Building**\\\\nRamped up, mentored 20+ new engineers, managers to set them up for success in the team.\\\\n \\\\n\\\\n \\\\n \\\\n\\\\n \\\\n
