ABOUT SHRINA THAKKAR

I represent the fourth generation at Gokaido Sports, a martial arts equipment brand established in 1975. Being part of a legacy business comes with both responsibility and opportunity — the responsibility to preserve its foundation and the opportunity to shape its future.My role has been centered around strengthening the company’s industry presence while introducing new ideas for structured growth and brand development.My work has involved:* Developing new and innovative product lines for the evolving needs of martial artists* Building strong networks within the karate ecosystem including coaches, academies, and federations* Representing the brand at exhibitions, tournaments, and industry platforms through end-to-end ground execution* Driving sponsorships, partnerships, and PR initiatives to strengthen brand visibility* Reworking and redesigning the company’s marketing approach to make it more structured and modern* Modernizing backend operations and infrastructureMuch of my approach is shaped by my academic journey at NMIMS, where experiential learning and global industry exposure reinforced the importance of systems, discipline, and long-term thinking in business.I am particularly interested in how family businesses can evolve through systems, governance, and innovation while preserving their legacy values.
