Directed advocacy efforts to tie 36% of orthopaedic surgeons’ reimbursements to value-based care, enhancing care quality and reducing costs. Influenced redesign of Medicare value-based care payment models such as the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR), the Bundled Payment for Care Improvement (BPCI) and the Transforming Episode Accountability (TEAM) models. Spearheaded the policy reversal to reinstate the Medicare Inpatient Only List preventing an increase in outpatient complications. Led analysis of and written comments to annual Medicare payment rules (IPPS, MPFS, OPPS) for 15+ years to improve reimbursement accuracy and patient outcomes.
