ABOUT SHREYAS JOIS

I am a researcher and educator at the University of Saskatchewan. I am also the owner and lead facilitator of Mindful Strides Equine Assisted Learning Academy, a research based skill building program in Corman Park near Saskatoon. After gaining 14 years of experience in various aspects of the Life Science sector including research, product development and compliance, communication, teaching, and sales I have realized that my strength lies in helping others reach their goals which is a major responsibility in my current roles. As a Histologist at the USask Health Sciences Histology Core Facility I provide research and teaching support to campus wide researchers at USask who are interested in using histological methods to answer their scientific questions. I also manage the day to day activities of the facility that includes budgeting, financial management, people and time management. I have 8 years of experience in histology and microscopy, and have the technical and managerial skillsets to successfully carry out my responsibilities. We have various cutting edge tools to help researchers process their histological samples, embed them, stain the samples using chemicals and antibodies, and image them using several microscopy techniques. https://healthsciences.usask.ca/facility-services/histology-core-facility.phpI am a nature and animal lover with a special affection towards horses. I am a strong believer of One Health and nature based complementary modalities for wellness. My personal interest is to rehabilitate neurodivergent children. In this context I have worked with Sappani Foundation, an Ontario based non-profit foundation and built a knowledgebase on CDGs, a set of rare genetic diseases in children. Currently I am working on EAL projects for the holistic development of children and youth. More details of my current and previous experience can be found in my work experience section. I love connecting with people and am always up for a chat, feel free to connect with me here or write to me at j••••••••@gmail.com
