About Shreyan Datta
I\'m a nerd who sometimes lacks common sense and loves working on the interference of Medical Science and Technology. My research interest lies at the intersection of Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Immunology, Molecular and Synthetic Biology, Computational Biophysics and allied fields to solve the unknown mysteries of the human body, particularly in the area of Cancer, Neurodegenerative diseases and Antimicrobial Resistance. I am actively looking for working on projects that align to my research interest or even let me explore something new! My skills inculde: 1. Wet lab: Cell culture, PCR based Cloning, Recombinant Protein Expression and Purification, Gel Electrophoresis, SDS PAGE, Western-Blotting, ELISA. Dry lab: Molecular Docking, MD simulation, BLAST, CLUSTAL W, NG Phylogeny.fr, MAUVE, PyMol, Chimera, MOE, Homology Modeling, Machine Learning. Languages: Python, R, C++ I\'m passionate about improving Health Care via research, by development of novel therapies, optimization of existing ones to reduce the cost and time because in my opinion \"Healthcare delayed is Healthcare denied\". I also like teaching. I was the youngest Undergrad TA (teaching assistant) in the history of IIT BHU, where I to taught a course BC 201: Advances in Biochemistry to class of 2nd and 3rd year undergrads from depts of Biochemical Eng,Biomedical Eng, Pharmaceutical Eng. and Chemical Eng. being in my 3rd year of undergrad degree. I am also enthusiastic about science communications and transmission of correct Healthcare knowledge from scientists/doctors to the uninformed population. This knack for mythbusting led me to my first intern as content writer for a Sexual Health and Wellness Company; Allo Health, where I combined my creativity with science to curate Medical expert reviewed blogs and articles on the \"not-so-talked-about\" sexual health problems like Erectile Dysfunction, Premature Ejaculation, PCOS, Infertility etc. I\'m also a supporter of inclusivity in STEM, because I believe a diverse background brings newer and better perspective to the table, helps us look at the problem with a multidimensional approach adding to upliftment and better representation of historically denied and underrepresented groups.
