ABOUT SHRAVAN NAYAK
I am an AI researcher currently working at ServiceNow and Mila, where I focus on building advanced AI systems that are both powerful and adaptable to diverse real-world applications. At ServiceNow, I specialize in building large-scale open and permissive datasets, as well as developing multimodal foundation models for document, web, and GUI understanding. This work not only enhances automation and workflow optimization but also contributes to creating scalable AI solutions that meet global demands. At Mila, my research is centered on advancing multimodal large language models and diffusion models to improve cultural awareness in AI systems, ensuring that machine learning technologies are inclusive and culturally sensitive. Prior to these roles, I contributed to major projects at Microsoft, the University of Toronto, and the University of Hamburg. My experience includes developing high-demand features for PowerPoint that significantly increased user engagement, improving machine translation for low-resource languages, and advancing machine dubbing technologies. These diverse experiences have equipped me with a strong technical foundation and a commitment to using AI to drive positive social impact.
