About Shamman Noor Shoudha
I finished my Ph.D. at the University of Texas at Dallas, working at the “Broadband Information Transmission and Signaling (BITS)” research lab under the supervision of Dr. Naofal Al-Dhahir. I worked on a multi-technology, multi-band (Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 6 Zigbee) localization (funded by Texas Instruments (TI)) project. My PhD research was focused on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi ranging, Wi-Fi localization, and Wi-Fi sensing (human counting and gesture recognition) using model-based (MUSIC, Sparse OMP, etc.) and data-driven (Deep Learning Networks) methods in LOS/NLOS multipath environments.During my Masters, I developed LTE and aeronautical transceiver systems in MATLAB and proposed a modified MMSE equalizer to suppress the adjacent band LTE interference and multipath jointly. My works are published in two conference papers on the International Foundation for Telemetering. I proposed a machine learning (CNN)-based frame synchronizer for telemetry receivers that successfully reduced the frame synchronization error due to LTE interference to zero. This work was also accepted to be published at the same conference.I designed and implemented (using USRPs) a Wi-Fi sniffer for the WLAN 802.11g system that included the modules: Energy detection, time synchronization, coarse and fine CFO estimation and compensation, phase tracking and correction, channel estimation and equalization, PHY and MAC PDUs decoding, and network SSID capture. I published two conference papers R10 HTC and WIECON-ECE) focusing on digital signal processing.I completed two internships with Qualcomm\'s Modem Systems Engineering team developing state-of-the-art signal processing algorithms (refer to CV for details) for 5G NR and 6G modems transmitter/receivers.Skills:System-level simulators: MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEWMeasurements & Lab Skills: Working with USRPs, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Signal GeneratorsProgramming: C/C++(Basics), Python (OOPS, TensorFlow, Theano, Keras), VHDL (Basics), AssemblyOperating Systems: Windows, Linux
