Thrilled to share that I’ve joined the Estates & Facilities Management (EFM) team at the Senedd as an intern! This is an incredible opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sustainability, project management, and facilities operations, all while working alongside an experienced and supportive team.The EFM team plays a crucial role in ensuring the Senedd estate is well-maintained, sustainable, and fit for purpose—from managing key contracts and proactive maintenance to leading on environmental improvements. With so many exciting projects in progress, it’s the perfect time to be part of the team!So far, I’ve been diving into: Sustainability initiatives – learning about carbon footprinting, Scope 3 reporting, Climate Change Adaptation and continual environmental improvements. Customer service & facilities management – understanding how we respond to stakeholder needs across the estate. Project work – gaining insight into key development projects like Ty Hywel ‘26, the 7th Senedd Transition project and Pierhead conservation, as well as learning about contract management and performance monitoring.The experience (5 weeks in) has already been invaluable, and I’m looking forward to learning even more over the coming months.
