ABOUT SHONDA KINES

Shonda Kines is the Vice President, Human Resources at Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company. She has 20 + years of experience in compensation program design, employee benefits, performance management, employee relations and recruitment. She has served as a consultant and designed pay systems for other organizations in Mississippi as well as provided training in employment law, diversity and leadership. In her current role, she is responsible for all aspects of the company’s compensation program, employee benefits administration, payroll and recruiting.Shonda completed her Masters at Mississippi College and her Bachelors at Mississippi State University. She is a Certified Professional in Compensation, Certified Professional in Benefits and Certified Professional in Human Resources. She has also earned the Fellow, Life Management Institute Designation.Shonda has served on the Executive Board of the Capital Area Human Resource Association in the roles of Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President, President-Elect, President and Past President. She has also served on the Executive Board of the Mississippi Association of Colleges and Employers and earned the Outstanding Employer of the Year Award from that organization. Shonda is currently the Director for the Mississippi State Council of SHRM. She was also selected as 2017 HR Professional of the year by Mississippi SHRM.
