ABOUT SHONAKSHI CHAKRAVARTY

I was born in the National Capital Region (NCR, India) and grew up across many cities and attended school and college in Pune, Bombay and Bangalore. I pursued Arts at Christ Junior College in Bangalore, Karnataka and BA (Hons) Sociology at Kamala Nehru College, Delhi University, Delhi. I am a Broadcast Journalist and News Anchor with 8 years of work experience largely in television with stints in print and digital. Having worked with organizations such as Times of India, NDTV and Outlook Magazine, I am passionate about story-telling and producing content. A dreamer and a nature lover, I would describe myself as self-driven, compassionate and a highly ambitious individual. As a former Senior Correspondent with NDTV on the field, I have covered major news events such as Delhi Riots, Shaheen Bagh protests, Farmers\' protest, Covid-induced lockdown and the Pandemic, the impact of Russia-Ukraine war on Indian students and their evacuation, Taliban\'s takeover on Afghanistan and evacuation of Afghans to Delhi, The Aam Aadmi Party\'s political progress and their big Punjab election win, among many other significant stories. As a former Senior Correspondent with Outlook Business, among other significant news developments in the world of business I have reported on the impact of Facebook/META layoffs, interviewed the former Finance Minister P Chidambaram and Former Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission of India, Montek Singh Ahluwalia on the subject of India\'s 2023 Budget. In the world of start-ups, I have produced and hosted a segment called \'Changing The Curve\', where we spoke to several entrepreneurs stirring a revolution such as Akshay Chaturvedi of Leverage-Edu, Govind Gaur of WanderOn and Bharat Bhalla and Varun Kapur of YuFood Labs. I occasionally play badminton and aspire to play the piano someday.
