Software Engineer — Balance & Payments PlatformDesigned, built, and performance-tuned core financial infrastructure for a payment balance platform handling merchant fund flows, withdrawals, and account lifecycle management.Withdrawal System Design & Implementation Architected a batch-centric withdrawal system supporting regular, instant, and fee withdrawal flows through a hierarchical batch model. Built end-to-end transaction lifecycle including settlement, initiation, completion, reversals, refunds, and failed withdrawal recovery with batch status state machine enforcement. Implemented internal transaction APIs, cursor-based paginated queries, instant withdrawal eligibility search, and a strategy pattern for extensible transaction processing. Engineered UUID-based idempotency, optimistic locking for concurrency safety, and journal entry auditing.Balance Account Status Update APIs Designed account lifecycle management with a five-state status machine, transition validation, idempotent no-op handling, and guaranteed event publishing via Sidecar Outbox pattern with atomic PostgreSQL staging, DynamoDB, and scheduled Reaper retry.Performance Engineering — Led End-to-End Optimization Drove system throughput to 1052 TPS for balance and withdrawal operations through iterative perf testing and tuning. Implemented FOR UPDATE SKIP LOCKED atomic transaction claiming to eliminate worker race conditions. Added claim-release mechanism and upgraded advisory lock hashing to 64-bit FNV-1a reducing collisions. Tuned connection pool: reduced connection timeout 60s to 10s, transaction timeout 300s to 60s, added 4s statement timeout, achieving 0% failure rate across 37M+ DB queries. Replaced N+1 fee lookups with batched queries, removed non-sargable patterns enabling index use and partition pruning. Consolidated payout_aggregates indexes from 7 to 4 composites and fee_transaction from 6 to 2. Implemented read-write splitting via ReadOnlyDataSource routing to read replicas. Added table partitioning via pg_partman across 11 tables. Scaled DB vertically and pods horizontally to 10. Built Gatling perf test suite with burst, 24hr spread, and status operation simulations achieving P95 under 1.5s and under 0.5% error rate. Processed 6.4M tasks with 100% first-attempt success in 2-hour load tests.Banking Workflow Engine Design Contributed to workflow engine design for banking onboarding, improving operational efficiency and reducing manual integration effort.Stack: Java, Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Kafka/IEDM, Gatling, HikariCP
