About Shlok Gujar

I am currently a Senior Software Development Engineer at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), working within the Cluster Networking organization to develop high-performance cluster networks of GPUs designed to run machine learning and large language models (LLMs). I have developed backend services from scratch using OCI tooling to host GPU cluster networks, automating the creation of Virtual Cloud Networks (VCNs), subnets, Network Security Groups (NSGs), load balancers, alarms, and IAM policies. Through this work, I have gained technical expertise in InfiniBand architecture, Shepherd, Terraform, ODO, Java, and Python.Previously, I worked at Hewlett-Packard Enterprise (HPE) within the Aruba Networks division. In this role, I was responsible for designing and delivering customer-centric backend solutions, developing features and pipelines to facilitate the seamless migration of customers from legacy systems to new platforms. My work involved extensive use of GoLang, Python, Kafka, CockroachDB, RabbitMQ (RMQ), among other technologies.Prior to HPE, I was a Software Development Engineer at Amazon, contributing to the Luna cloud gaming service in the social engagement space. My primary focus was on enhancing the customer experience by launching key features such as Virtual Cloud Co-op, allowing users to engage in multiplayer gaming directly from their locations. I also played a key role in integrating Luna with Discord, enabling users to display their Luna activity to friends on Discord and enhancing social discoverability.Before joining Amazon full-time, I earned my Master’s degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, specializing in Machine Learning. During my studies, I interned with the Amazon Luna team, where I was responsible for developing an internal web application built using NAWS technologies.Earlier in my career, I interned at Gromor Finance as a full-stack developer and served as a Research Intern and Mentor at Skinzy Solutions Pvt. Ltd, where I contributed to the development of mobile-based solutions for skin disease diagnosis and treatment.At the beginning of my coding journey, I developed several Android applications, some of which are published on the Google Play Store. These include a placement portal for my undergraduate institution (Sardar Patel Institute of Technology) and an event management app for college festivals.
