ABOUT SHIVANJALI AHLUWALIA
After 5 years of selling brands to people who don\'t \'need\' their products, I made the switch to social impact - to work on selling stories, products and brands made by women who need them everyday, for women who need them everyday. From freelancing with non-profits in the female-healthcare space to creating a media platform revolving around gender inequity in entrepreneurship, as much as I shouldn\'t advertise it, I could frankly do this job for free. My experience lays in communication, consumer psychology and digital media, and my exposure comes from social entrepreneurship and account management. My growth in all my previous roles pretty much had only my solution-oriented approach in common. I\'m a big fan of not only listening to people, but also making them feel heard, seen and profoundly understood - a habit that\'s always come in handy whether that be to pull in a pipeline client or design a strategy for a niche audience. I am currently working on building a platform and community called Able नारी, focused on undoing the \'abla naari\'(or damsel in distress) stereotype around women in business and entrepreneurship, and leap more equitable representation in important, decision-making rooms. I starstuckenly admire anybody sending the elevator back down for more women to break through the glass ceiling, so if that\'s you or someone you\'d like to be, let\'s have a chat!
