About Shivanandan Indimath
I am an Innovation Manager at the Group Innovation Office - Tata Sons. My primary focus is to incite Innovation across Tata Group companies. We are also building an ecosystem of cutting-edge technology companies, while leveraging their expertise to solve some of the most challenging use-cases across the Tata Group.I have earlier worked as a lead researcher focusing on developing sensor systems for non destructive evaluation. My research area has been focused on ultrasonic sensors and measurement systems for process monitoring, damage detection and structural health monitoring for the steel manufacturing industry. My vision is to have completely sensorized, connected and automated production processes to avoid risk to human life and maximize process control & product quality.I hold a PhD in Doppler Ultrasound where I developed a proof of concept for the oil and gas industry for estimating influx/efflux of formation fluids in oil & gas boreholes while drilling.My research work has involved the development experimental proof of concepts, lab scale prototypes, testing and optimization in field conditions and scale up and field implementation. Some of my prominent work include the development of an ultrasonic method for bulk density measurement of stamp charge coal cakes, high speed ultrasonic inspection of mash seam welds in a continuous galvanizing line, assessment of hearth refractories of blast furnaces using acoustic resonance method, blockage detection in gas pipelines to name a few.My publication list can be found on Google Scholar: & hl=en
