About Shivam Kapila

Hey,I am a 2022 graduate from the National Institute of Technology Hamirpur with a Dual Degree (Bachelor’s and Master’s) in Computer Science. I am currently a Software Development Engineer at BlinkIt (formerly Grofers), in the ads tech team. I am working on building systems to dynamically serve advertising assets based on impressions and metrics promised to the advertisers. During my internship at BlinkIt, I focused on improving the customer experience and building a product to help brands advertise and showcase their products better. I am an open source enthusiast and have participated as a Google Summer of Code student with MetaBrainz Foundation Inc, which is dedicated to creating and maintaining an open encyclopedia of music and cover arts. I worked on their ListenBrainz project, improving the project\'s user experience and optimizing the listen importer pipeline. I\'ve worked with several technologies and some of them include Python, C++, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, Flask, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Docker, Spark, Git, Redis, RabbitMQ, Apache Pinot etc.When I ain\'t fiddling with some code, I would be enjoying some music or going through some interesting reads.Feel free to drop me a message if I could be of any help :).

   BlinkIt (formerly Grofers) is an Indian online grocery delivery service focused on instant delivery of everyday essentials at discounted rates.At BlinkIt, currently I am working on: Optimising database queries and adding indexes to lower CPU utilization and prevent sudden spikes during peak hours. Building systems to dynamically serve advertising assets based on impressions and metrics promised to the advertisers.
