I am Shiva Kumarappa, an Assistant Professor of Psychology with a specialization in Counselling Psychology and a focused academic interest in Forensic Psychology and Digital Forensics. My primary area of interest lies in integrating behavioral analysis within the digital forensic investigation process, particularly in understanding how psychological patterns inform cybercrime behavior, digital evidence interpretation, and investigative decision-making.I hold an M.A. in Counselling Psychology from IGNOU and have qualified the UGC-NET. I am currently serving at Bangalore University, where I emphasize applied, evidence-oriented, and ethically grounded psychology education, with a strong focus on interdisciplinary integration between psychology, forensic science, and technology. I actively mentor students in psychological experimentation, assessment, and research methodology, fostering analytical thinking relevant to forensic and investigative contexts.My professional experience includes service as an Academic Counsellor at IGNOU and as a Counsellor in clinical and community mental health settings. I have presented four research papers at national and international conferences and have received two Best Paper Awards, reflecting sustained scholarly engagement and research competence in applied and forensic-oriented psychology.With a strong foundation in Cyber Psychology and Digital Mental Health, my current academic engagement with Digital Forensics centers on examining behavioral indicators in digital environments, offender–victim dynamics, online deception, and technology-mediated crime. I am particularly interested in how psychological profiling, cognitive patterns, and behavioral signatures can complement technical digital forensic methodologies, thereby strengthening investigative accuracy, ethical evaluation, and legally defensible outcomes—competencies closely aligned with the objectives of FACT and FACT Plus certification frameworks.
