ABOUT SHITANSHU SHEKHAR SHUKLA

I am a task-oriented person bound by certain principles like honesty and driven by a desire to become an honour to the profession. A consummate communicator, I love playing with words. Proven excellence in communications at almost every level including corporate, employee, media and brand management. Before corporate communications happened, I had been a people-oriented journalist with about 22 years experience in editing, reporting, writing features, news, analyses in Patna, Bhopal, Ranchi, New Delhi, UAE (Abu Dhabi) besides writing for Oped and Edit pages and editing international stories. A short stint with TV Today introduced me to significance of thorough research and analysis. Later I spent one year with ANI-Reuters TV. The responsibility involved assisting the Reuters producers to conceptualize, prioritise the news as head of the editorial team besides checking and rewriting their scripts. The varied exposure has made me proficient in exploring and developing new perspectives. Always looking for improvement in language, I have a drive to self actualize. I should like to describe myself as an effective communicator with good analytical presentation. As a reporter with national news agency UNI and leading English daily The Times of India, I always ensured that the facts were collected from primary source of the news. However it was easier said than done. As a correspondent with The Times of India I remember walking across the villages on empty stomach in search of one good quote. I learnt the art of editing and making the copies tight during my long stint with Hindustan Times. Economy of words holds the key. Working with Gulf Time in Abu Dhabi, I took care of the edit/oped page and edited, selected the columns from across the world for the views page. Besides, I had to conceptualise, prioritise and write business news for the business page striking balance between UAE and global economy.
