ABOUT SHIRLEY ROWE
Trainer. Teacher. Career Coach. Instructional Designer. Early Technology Adopter. Career coach/educator and trainer with over 20 years experience in the career development field my passion is sharing my knowledge with others through the Facilitating Career Development training and my newly developed course on Working with Military Veterans. On a one-to-one client basis, I help others to see their potential and coach them in developing a plan to achieve their goals. I have developed an interest and expertise in several areas: staff development, encore careers, working with military veterans, career transition and development, decision-making, developing a job search strategy, resume building, and researching employers. As a selected member of the NCDA CDF Advisory Council, I am able to further develop and guide the direction of this valuable training. Provided the opportunity to teach a semester-long undergraduate course in Personal Career Planning, I found that teaching far exceeded my expectations. Being able to guide students through the course and see them develop and learn about themselves and all the options open to them has been very rewarding. When I discovered the Master of Education degree in Educational Technology, I could not believe my good fortune. Obtaining my master\'s degree while combining my interest in computers and technology with teaching and instructional design seemed too good to be true. After completing the degree in 2005, I was afforded the opportunity to become more actively involved in oversight of web development and designing instructional materials.
