Judge Shirley L. Fulton brings twenty eight plus years as a judge, lawyer, businesswoman and community leader. She is currently of counsel to her law firm, Tin Fulton Walker & Owen, PLLC and managing partner of The Wadsworth Estate where she provides event planning and meeting space for corporate, business, civic and social events. Judge Fulton is also President of Law and Community Foundation, a non-profit foundation of Charlotte School of Law where she serves as chair of the board of advisors/directors. She has combined her experience in the justice system, the legal profession, in business and in the community to bring reasoned analysis and sound judgment to complex problems. She has received numerous awards for her leadership and service in the courts and in the community. Some of these include NC Bar Association Citizen Lawyer Award, Super Lawyer Award, Association of Women Attorneys Judge of the Year, NC Charlotte Woman of the Year, Urban League Whitney Young Award, NAACP Legal Defense Fund Award, Historic Charlotte Historic Preservation Award and Charlotte Black Pages USA Lifetime Achievement Award.
