ABOUT SHIREEN KHALED
I grew up in Lebanon and moved to the United States on the anniversary of the Beirut Blast, after receiving a Presidential Scholarship for my master’s at The New School — where I graduated as valedictorian. Now, I’m part of the editorial staff at The New Yorker (Condé Nast), working on stories that explore politics, culture, and the arts — including Pulitzer Prize–winning pieces. Theatre showed me how stories can move people — and that’s at the heart of everything I do in film and television. I’ve worked with ITV Studios on The Voice and directed, produced, and edited films featuring Nicole Ansari-Cox and Nada Abou Farhat. My work has also been featured in Variety and other major outlets. I’m drawn to people and places — and across every medium, I try to tell stories that matter. Much of my work explores identity, relationships, trauma, and time, shaped by a life lived between two worlds.
