Shireen Singh brings over 29 years of experience in the foreign and commercial policy space in South Asia, with a deep understanding of India’s political, policy, and business landscapes at both the central and state levels. She currently serves at the India and Bhutan desk in the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, where she oversees sanctions, biotechnology and biopharma policy, and private sector engagement. Previously, she served as the Bhutan Desk Officer within the India desk, managing the full scope of informal diplomatic relations with Bhutan.Before joining the U.S. State Department, Shireen held several key roles in the private sector in Washington, DC. As Senior Director for Policy Advocacy at the U.S-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF), she led advocacy efforts across healthcare, defense and aerospace, and the food-agriculture-retail sectors. Prior to that, she was Director for South Asia at The Asia Group, where she managed portfolios spanning health, medical technologies, automotive, insurance, logistics, manufacturing, and agriculture.Earlier in her career, Shireen served for over 21 years as a Political Specialist at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi, gaining firsthand experience in U.S-India bilateral relations and regional policy dynamics.
