ABOUT SHIRAZ A.

I started out being unsure of what wanted to do or how I could best leave my mark in the legal field. It is clear that those who persist and are consistent will do so much more that they believe they can. I qualified as a barrister more than 20 years ago and in my time provided legal advice and assistance to individuals and corporate entities including on compliance and conflict matters.It has been my pleasure to work along some of the brightest and progressive minds in law and other spheres. I have learnt and continue to learn so much about law, life, cultures, diversity, ethics, humility, compassion and integrity which I strive to practice everyday. We are not perfect in every way but we keep toiling and striving for better not only for ourselves but our communities and countries. I have always strived to ensure equality and accessibility to the Courts. Throughout my career, be it as a clerk, barrister or judge, education and sharing from my experience has been important. This has become more so during these uncertain and unsure times after the COVID-19 pandemic. I have taken pride and joy in advising companies and employees in the airline industry, providing advice in commercial negotiations and alternative dispute resolution. I have also been privileged to advise on financial management contracts and applicable international Laws, Regulations and Directives such as EMIR, Dodd Frank Regulations to ensure compliance, risk management and promoting transparency and regulatory compliance No matter what is to come next, I hope to be considered someone who is sound in the law, principled. I do recognize that there are deep values in the law and ensure that these values and principles are protected for those who cross my path or path that I may come across.I will certainly take hold of any opportunity that comes my way to expand, learn and share From and with others. I love the human interaction with others in my work and personal environment. I am a total team player but set examples of excellence whenever and wherever I can.I love my family dearly and thank them for providing me with the many opportunities to fly. We all need to keep flying and progressing and being there for each other. We must strive for change and for better. As one great thinker stated “ Change will not come if we wait for some other person or if we wait for some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”
