Nov 2012 — Present · Las Vegas, NV, US

Dr. Spence was the recipient of the 2012-13 NOGI in Science. The NOGI is the diving industry\'s equivalent of an Oscar and is the oldest and most prestigious award in the diving industry. First awarded in 1960, a NOGI by the Underwater Society of America, it is now administered by the Academy of Underwater Arts and Sciences. NOGIs are an international award and everyone of the world\'s millions of sport, commercial, educational and scientific divers are technically eligible to receive one. Undersea explorer and Movie Director James has described the NOGI as more difficult to get than an Oscar. Cameron should know as he has been honored with both.
