About Shiliu Wang

Family Nurse Practitioner committed to practicing care through an anti-racist, social justice centered framework. My clinical interests are in adolescent medicine, sexual and reproductive healthcare, HIV treatment and management and LGBTQ health.I am also interested in leveraging popular and political education as tools to push people to think more critically about what kinds of knowledge we consume through our educational institutions and to challenge binaries of normal/abnormal, healthy/unhealthy. I believe organizing and activism are necessary medicines to address the structural roots of why so many people are sick (namely racism and capitalism). We each have to take responsibility towards dismantling binaries and challenging power structures to build towards a world where everyone\'s dignity and lives are honored and respected.
