Analyze and visualize election and contribution data using Python, R, Excel, to understand women’s involvement in politics as candidates, nominees, winners, and donors. The data has been used to produce 3 major reports and will be used to produce other reports to be shared with media, non-profits, research institutions, and such. https://cawp.rutgers.edu/research/cawp-women-money-and-politics-series/donor-gap- Analyze big campaign finance data using Linux and high performing computer clusters- Conduct live tracking of campaign finance during election cycle to generate reports on fund raising by and contributions to candidates belonging to different demographics. Also, track political giving by women and men donors.https://cawp.rutgers.edu/research/cawp-women-money-and-politics-series/money-watch-2024- Help maintain a database of statewide executives, state legislative, and congressional women candidates, nominees, and winners during election season. Also, analyze the data for media briefings, reports, media requests, as necessary- Collect necessary data (e.g. all those who served in state legislative offices, democratic vote share per district per state) using web-scraping tools such as beautifulsoup, json. Automate data download processes- Update information on CAWP’s website and help run outreach programs.
