My Happy Place : Architecting Transformations - Shikha\'s Path To Atlassian My Professional ExperienceHow it started…It’s been just about two decades since I started my career as a Software Quality Engineer at an IT services company.One of my earliest opportunities was testing customer services during the large Nextel-Sprint telecom merger andacquisition. That experience sparked a passion for quality management and SDLC practices that has onlycompounded over time.My journey through Quality & DeliverySince then, I’ve moved from quality control in IT services, to quality assurance in financial services, to AI‑driven quality engineering for a telco.Along the way, I like to say I earned a “master’s in patience and resilience” and a “PhD in SDLC”(without the actual degree)—all the ingredients needed for meaningful transformations.Over the last decade,my work has focused on DevOps and IT Service Management: shifting quality levers to the left for development teams and to the right for business operations.Leading transformations (and using Atlassian as a customer)Before Atlassian, I led large‑scale technology and operations transformations,most recently as Senior Director of ITService Management and B2B at Liberty Latin America.There, I championed Atlassian products (Jira Software, Confluence, Jira Product Discovery, Jira Service Management)and led the Atlassian Data Center–to–Cloud migration, alongside a broader system‑of‑work transformation along withGenerative AI.I’ve spent years building and maturing DevOps and ITSM practices, driving cross‑functional change, and makingcomplex systems and processes actually work for people. I was also fortunate tobe part of complex BSS/OSStransformations across multiple mergers and acquisitions.My sweet spot (and why Atlassian)My sweet spot is turning messy, cross‑functional problem spaces into clear, scalable ways of working that improve reliability,help teams ship, and move the needle for customers and business.And now I’m here at Atlassian - Really Excited to be at my happy place: the place where customer problems, strategy and execution collide. My RootsI’m from the north of India. I was born and raised in Amritsar.
