ABOUT SHI CHEN
Shi Chen holds Marion B. Ingersoll Professorship and Professor of Operations Management at the Foster School of Business, University of Washington at Seattle. He received BE and MS degrees in Industrial Engineering from Tsinghua University, PRC, and then he received Ph.D. in Operations Management from Stanford University. Dr. Chen\'s current research focuses on supply chain and inventory management, socially responsible and sustainable supply chains, as well as operations strategies of the high-tech, renewable energy, and cloud industries. His research projects have been published in top peer-reviewed academic journals in the area of operations management, including Management Science, Operations Research, Manufacturing and Service Operations Management (MSOM), and Production and Operations Management (POM).He lived in Beijing (China), Paris (France), Palo Alto (CA), before moving to the Seattle area. He is married to Qinqin Zhang, who also received Ph.D. in Operations Management from Stanford University and works for Facebook in the relevant area of business & data analytics. He is a proud father of three lovely children.
