About Christopher Shewbarran

Hello! I\'m a Licensed Psychologist in Nevada. I entered the field of psychology because I enjoy learning and understanding human behaviors and experiences, and helping others understand their behaviors, experiences, and how to effectively and healthily cope with life stressors and mental health symptoms. I\'ve been fortunate in my clinical experiences to work with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds, experiencing symptoms of mental health illnesses. I\'ve also worked with clients experiencing dual diagnosis symptoms, such as substance abuse and dependency. I care very much about the work that I do with clients and families that I have the privilege of working with. I have utilized various evidenced-based therapy approaches, practices, and tools in my clinical work with clients so that I may be able to provide the best clinical care and support that I can. These approaches and tools include, but are not limited to cognitive-behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, mindfulness, meditation/relaxation, and client-centered therapy. Additionally, I have been trained in biofeedback and neurofeedback/QEEG. I do believe in the \"mind, body, and spirit\" connection and that they are always influencing and balancing one another. I also believe for each individual that their balance of mind, body, and spirit is different and unique to them, and I\'ve had the privilege of working with clients to find their own balance.
