Revival Queen Bees produces queens that are bred to thrive in Alberta’s unique environment. The company is owned and operated by my husband, Glyn, and I. We are both biologists with a desire to enhance the local beekeeping industry. Glyn grew up beekeeping at his family\'s queen breeding apiary in New Zealand, so beekeeping was a great fit for us. We started by producing honey, but soon realized that local beekeepers were in desperate need of high-quality local queen bees. Glyn\'s experience lent itself well to solving this problem, so we began breeding queens in 2017. We also noticed a lack of knowledge transfer between expert and hobbyist beekeepers, so we added education and mentoring to our goals. Most of our current efforts are focused on building a community of beekeepers and breeding local queens, both of which will ultimately result in healthier honey bee populations.
