ABOUT SHERYL COOKSON
I’m a Speech‑Language Therapy (SLT) graduate passionate about helping people communicate confidently, whether that’s a child finding their voice, a stroke survivor re‑learning speech, or families navigating communication challenges together.Before entering SLT, I spent many years in marketing, where I learned how to truly understand people, craft compelling narratives, and connect authentically, these are skills I can now bring to therapeutic practice.My journey into speech‑language therapy began on a deeply personal note: supporting my son through his own speech therapy journey. Seeing the power of communication and the impact of skilled, compassionate support ignited a career pivot I never looked back from.Since then, I’ve gained experience in Adult Language Disorders (ALD), stroke recovery, and paediatric therapy and I’ve enjoyed every step of it. Each experience has reinforced what I already believed: communication matters, and meaningful progress changes lives.I’m excited to continue growing as a clinician, using both my clinical training and my background in communication strategy to help people be heard, understood, and engaged.
