ABOUT SHERYL BOWER

Sheryl Bower, AICP, brings over 25 years of senior management experience in the public sector and 15 years of private sector professional planning experience. Her expertise spans a wide range of areas, including affordable housing, entitlements, policy development, hazard mitigation planning, comprehensive planning, drafting land development regulations, administration of CDBG, public participation, economic development, waterfront development, transit-oriented development, transportation options, Smart Growth, sustainability, resiliency planning, and grant writing. Throughout her career, Ms. Bower has successfully managed diverse projects, from New Towns to Golf Course Community Redevelopment. She has been instrumental in the development of Form-Based Codes, facilitated charrettes, and negotiated government services contracts. Additionally, she played a key role in establishing Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), promoting mobility options, enhancing customer service, and implementing strategies to attract and retain businesses. While in Florida Ms.Bower was very active in the Central Florida Section of ULI, and was a member of the Florida State Chapter ULI, MIxed Use Product Council. Ms. Bower is also a member of the Smart Growth America Local Leaders Council along with LOCUS, a Smart Growth America initiative to bring real estate developers and investors in line with smart growth principles. Ms.Bower has studied smart code calibration and transect planning theory with Andres Duany and Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk through DPZ\'s Miami offices. As a manager, Ms. Bower actively seeks opportunities to expand her leadership knowledge. She graduated from the Roaring Fork Leadership Academy in 2019. Her commitment to sustainability and climate change initiatives is evident through her long-term involvement with the ICMA’s Sustainable Communities Advisory Committee, where she served as the chair from 2020 to 2021. One of Ms. Bower’s core passions is ensuring the diversity and resilience of communities by providing affordable housing for all ages. In 2023, she accepted the position of Vice President at Habitat for Humanity Roaring Fork, dedicating all her efforts to this critical cause. Within 8 months Bower was given the title of Chief Operating Officer.
