ABOUT SHERRY SABBAGH
Having led global COLOR and MATERIALS DESIGN and TREND RESEARCH teams, I am known for my extensive trend insights in social, cultural and technology shifts within the design worlds of smart mobility, automotive, furniture, textiles and products.Regarded by the press as a THOUGHT LEADER in color, materials and design trends, I’ve been featured on NBC Prime Time shows, and in numerous newspapers and magazines over the past two decades. Reporters from the Chicago Tribune, Detroit News, Automotive News and Wards Auto Magazine request me annually to ‘walk the floor’ with them at the Detroit Auto Show, to point out key trends. Able to nimbly reinvent myself with easily transferable cross-industry skills, my journey has led me from designing textiles in NYC, to automotive color and materials design in Michigan, expanding on to lead the R&D of new sustainable and performance materials. This evolved to researching the impact of design, social, cultural, consumer, market and technology trends on automotive experiences, to influence strategic product roadmaps on the path to future mobility. As a Design Researcher and Futurist, I am passionate about translating TREND INSIGHTS and applying DESIGN THINKING to accelerate innovation and transform businesses. Adept at conceptual thinking to analyze the big picture, I forge connections to draw strategic, applicable insights across multi-industry disciplines, blending their most valued aspects. Having curated and developed all the materials and color palettes on 16 auto show concept cars and demonstrators, and on numerous seating and human-centered interior products, I’ve debuted many CREATIVE materials and trim technologies into the automotive industry. I have traveled the world delivering inspiring annual trend presentations on Global Design, Color, Auto Shows and Technology (at conferences, for customers and company-wide), and facilitated Innovation workshops in the US, EU, China, India and Singapore.
