About Sherri Berger
Currently, Sherri works as a strategic advisor and consultant. She spent close to three decades at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in several executive roles and the last 12 years she reported to the agency’s Director. As Chief Operating Officer overseeing the agency’s CFO, CIO and CHCO from 20••••21 and as Chief of Staff from 20••••23, Sherri played pivotal operational and strategic lead roles during major public health crises, including responses to Ebola, Zika, and COVID-19. She was well-recognized across executive levels of government for her ability to innovate and solve operational challenges. Sherri maintained leadership continuity under several presidential transitions, large-scale disease outbreaks, and significant operational challenges, including government shutdowns and mid to late year budgets. Sherri started her career at the CDC in 1996 as an epidemiologist and led the agency’s Congressional appropriations office for several years.
