About Sherrema Oom-Dove
Originally from Flint, Michigan (USA), I have lived in or traveled to more than a dozen countries, worked for three public library systems, and been staff, faculty, and/or student at five universities, a community college, and Seminary in the USA, China, and New Zealand. I have more than a decade of teaching experience, both online and on campus, and nearly 15 years of qualitative research experience. Career positions have included Grants Specialist for Out-of-School-Time (OST) and community programs; tutoring, teaching, and lecturing at the high school and university levels; public library work with children and youth; and museum intern experience in accessioning and exhibit development. I am an ethnographer, international public speaker, community journalist, community advocate and dialogist, and story collector. Specialties: grant writing, evaluation, and project management; transnational research in anthropology of religion, gender and ethnicity; writing & analysis; college and university instruction and classroom management; conducting inter-group dialogues (interracial, interfaith, etc.); networking; organization and planning of programs to raise awareness about social issues; goal-setting & multi-tasking; public-speaking; global and expatriate life and travel.
